Dragonflies’ Class Blog 14.11.17

Dragonflies have started the final half term of autumn brilliantly!

We braved the cold to enjoy an exciting golf competition at Ringwood School. Hale Dragonflies dominated the results and came 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st! Well done to everyone!

In geography we have started to investigate why earthquakes occur. In one intensive afternoon we calculated the average mean amount of years between each earthquake occurrence in New Zealand and added this figure to 2011, the last year an earthquake occurred. We also looked at the patterns and magnitudes of the earthquakes, plotting them on our own map. Dragonflies then predicted that the next earthquake in New Zealand will occur in 2023, so be careful when you book your holidays!

On Monday the children wore odd socks to celebrate anti bullying week. They will be taking part in activities to celebrate and understand difference and equality in school and wider society.

Finally Mrs Adams has thoroughly enjoyed teaching Dragonflies to bake apple pie and raspberry and chocolate muffins over the past couple of weeks.
